American Racing Slot Wheel 15x10, 5x5?

Did American Racing make 10x15, 5x5 Slot wheels back in the 70-80s and what back spacings were available? Back spacing of 4.5 to 5.0 looks like it would fit step side best. Below is pic of AR111 slot wheel 8.5x15.

Re: American Racing Slot Wheel 15x10, 5x5?

I just bought some American Racing make 10x15, 5x5 Slot wheels for my 76. Now they do look period which is why I choose them, but I would be interested too. The ones I bought (LMC $129 each) have a split rim style pattern which I'm not sure about. Think they will look good though. Getting new rubber as we speak.

Please post a picture once you have them mounted on your truck. I am sure they will look nice. What back spacing are they? Thinking for my C10 1986 step side, I need 4.5 to 5.0 for 10' inch wide rims.

You know it didn't say when I ordered them from LMC. And they are waiting for rubber at discount tire, I didn't want the boxes back so when I pick them up I will see if they still have a box because it should say on there. If not then when I get them back I will have to measure them before mounting them.

More than likely 3 3/4 to 4" BS on these, seems to be the norm on 15x10's not custom made.

Yes,American made 15 x 10 slots in 5 on 5. Been on look out for a pair myself. It seems the narrower sizes are mire common to find. There were other companies as well. Those AR-23s are a nice looking wheel for what is still available today.

Special K,

Do you remember what back spacing the AR 10s were made in? For 74 to 87 C10, it looks like those axles require 4 1/2 to 5 inch BS.

Do you remember the quality of the different manufactures alu slot wheels? The AR quality seems very good?

Re: American Racing Slot Wheel 15x10, 5x5?

I have a couple sets of American racing 15x10's and a couple sets of Centerline 15x10's and all of them have a 3 1/2" offset. Seems like the standard offset for 15x10's but have seen them up to 5"....just not a lot of them.

To be honest, backspace never came up when buying wheels till recent years. It seemed all those wheels were all good quality

Well here's the thing.... tire companies scared me on the size of tire. They kinda look smaller than I had hoped. but way wider, still very cool IF... that rubbing sound coming from the front is just a dead cat or possum I picked up. So off will come the front wheels to check where that is coming from. I will try to remember to measure the offset then. That will not be till next weekend.
But they look very cool.

Guess as it's a 70's truck I could have done what the super cars did back then. Different size back wheels to front wheels. Remember the De Tomaso Mangusta?

Thanks for all the info. The two AR111 that I have are 3 7/8 backspacing.
