Brake fluid LEAK!!

I bought a CPP brake booster master cylinder kit to go with their disk brake kit. Can someone tell me what would cause it to LEAK between the MC and Booster? I can't stand leaks and of course the fluid ate up my Por-15 on the frame. Please help.

Thanks
Rudy

Re: Brake fluid LEAK!!

The master cylinder is defective- the rear seal is bad.

I didn't think anything but a hammer would damage POR15!

New means new, New does not mean GOOD, Sorry but that's how it is.
I'd be on the phone pronto with them if you recently purchased it.

I'll be on the phone first thing in the morning, thanks. At first I was think the brake rod might be too long.

Re: Brake fluid LEAK!!

i was told by a senior forum member that DOT 5 brake fluid wont eat the paint, but you have to only run that kind once you switch as its not compatible.

Sorry, but I don't agree. I've had very good luck with them.

Re: Brake fluid LEAK!!

I just sent an email to Mario @ CPP, explaining the issue with pics. Lets see how they handle it.

Same here, only had a couple experiences with them and they were all good.

My only complaint was lack of ANY instructions with a disc brake conversion kit we bought once - just a box of parts and a bag of bolts! LOL! I wasn't impossible, but with a straight axle kit, there's a combination of spacers to figure out.....

Re: Brake fluid LEAK!!

I bought a disc brake kit for my Camaro, and had the exact same issue. Can't remember who made it or where I bought it. When I called, they said, "the vendor who rebuilds those for us has had some quality issues lately." Wow, thanks. I didn't have patience for the send it back then send me another (that also might leak). So I bought a seal kit at the local parts store, a hone, and rebuilt it myself. At least then I knew it was right.

Re: Brake fluid LEAK!!

That's why I prefer to buy as many of my parts as possible local. I don't have to ship back and forth for warranty issues.
