Raising/Lifting a C20

I'd like to get a little lift on a C20 without doing a ton of mods. going to be switching to discs soon and came across this thread that suggests putting in 1 ton springs to get a slightly higher stance.

Anyone tried this on the earlier trucks and would it work (at least just give me an extra inch or so of lift)?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Raising/Lifting a C20

here's a couple of economical options:

Found these on www.speedwaymotors.com

First one is a rubber spring spacer that goes on top of the spring. Abut and 1-1 1/2" thick. Not sure how much with weight on it. $ 8.99 ea
(I've never used this type)

The other one is a steel one that fits on top of the spring and can be cut to whatever height you want, or leave it at the 3" height. I have used these and was happy with result. $12.99 ea.

There is also an adjustable version of the steel one. They are around $40 ea.

These would allow you to keep the springs/ride quality you have. Using the HD 1 ton springs could stiffen the front end up quite a bit. With a higher spring rate, but not the weight specified to be loaded on them, the springs will not contract and rebound as designed and the ride will be hard.

Re: Raising/Lifting a C20

Interesting. Since I probably need new springs wouldn't getting taller springs be an option at that point (not even sure that is possible but you never know) - or would the 1 ton springs basically be that?

Answered my own question on another forum it appears - http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/sh...8/pid/1071426/
