Re: Is this it?

don't forget to put the sock on the bottom of the pump. There should have been a new one with your sender. I don't know if I would trust the worm drive clamps on your fuel line. You might want to replace them with fuel injection clamps that won't tear up the hose.

Re: Is this it?

thanks man, i got those clamps too...i did put that sock on the bottom...my fat hand was in the way...i was just surprised that section was that easy...ill swap the clamps out tomorrow...i was thinking it would be more complicated...i think I'm making the fuel delivery harder than it needs to be

Re: Is this it?

I did the same thing. I finally bit the bullet last week and bought a(nother) new EP381 pump, '87 fuel tank, and '87 sender. I have been trying to cheap out, and went back and forth between in tank and external pump. I have bought at least one of each, then changed my mind, and changed it again. Tank is in the truck now, and I refuse to pull it back out!

Re: Is this it?

I was really undecided. I have overthought just about every step of my swap so far. I started to use the in tank pump, but had non baffled tanks. I let my painter have that one, and bought an external pump. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of the in tank pump. Thanks to Rock Auto, now it is all new.

Can you look at your sender and tell me which wire on the sender (grey or purple) corresponds to the red wire to the fuel pump?

Re: Is this it?

to be honest it looks like the both do

the way they go into the sender before they get to to the switch looks like they both go to the same wire...both positive...the other seems to be a ground
