Help identifying swing away tire carrier
Got this recently and hoping to learn of its application (universal or vehicle specific) and value.
Mounts on body of blazers make it appear specific but I'm missing the bolts to mount the swinging portion to the body brackets and the pin that releases it/holds it to the gate. The cover is a separate item I believe. Wheel looks to be a factory 6 lug 4wd steelie. Tire is shot but I'm sure the wheel has some value.

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
I had a 72 I got back in 82 with that carrier on it. I got it from the original owners so it was original to the truck. Dealer installed or factory can't tell you

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
thanks.....either dealer installed or factory is cool with me. it appears to be specific and period correct but wanted to confirm. Any idea on a fair market value? I see some for a bronco of our era locally advertised for 220-250 for just the swing out part (not the wheel or cover)

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
Looks like mine. I put it on in '90 or so and it's a Bestop.

Not to burst any bubbles here, But I've seen these on GM conversion vans also. Are there any part #'s anywhere?

I will look for part numbers... anyone with an idea of value. as mentioned, ones that look identical to this are listed for 220-250 in my area (doesn't mean they are selling for that though). Don't want to give it away but also not looking to make a fortune off of it either

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
None were factory all aftermarket. If all parts to install are there I'd say $250 is fair.

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
The brackets on the truck look like my swing away. I believe it is a Valley brand. They were not factory, but could have been dealer installed.
Inside the bedwall, there are threaded brackets that the exterior brackets bolt to. Without those interior brackets and the tailgate latch, most of your value is gone - somewhere in the $30-$50 range. With everything complete, $150 range. The aluminum wheel cover looks like something from JCWhittney.

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
Been a few months, but I can take a pic of mine where it bolts to the tailgate. It looks just like what I have.

Re: Help identifying swing away tire carrier
I have a good one on mine. I kinda like the interior mount style. Anyone interested in a trade?
