Re: my little brothers first truck..85 c10

I think it was a good deal.

All week thr brother that this truck is for has been game for this weekend. Now I find out from my mother that he doesn't want to come over to work on it, doesn't want to drive the 3 hour roadtrip to Carthage Tx for rally wheels and tails and headers and ac compressor and other nic nacs. Basically just has no desire.

So I figured I'd go get the 15 yr old again. I figured if I got him and didn't call ghe other one, he'd call me wanting to know what's up or at least let me know plans have changed. No call.

So I'm continuing on, today I got the truck in my name, went t remove thr old sticker with turned into removing cluster and dash to clean...cleaned out all the acvent lines in the dash and replaced all bulbs. Painted inside of cluster white to better illuminate gauges. Worked! Figured out my voltage gauge is bad.

Bought some brake pads for front, going to change them and then suck fluid out of mc and replace with new. May even bleed. Thrn look at rear pads on drums.

Tomorrow I make my 6 hour round trip to northeast texas and see some pretty country for some truck parts. Eager to clewn up the 8" rallys and put them on. Hopefully when I get back I csn get th carb to my cousin who is an e xpert on qjets.

Here's plates

Thes nxt two are of the gauges. The first pic is of my 85 c20, full brightness and one bulb out around the 70 mph mark.

The nnext pic is of my 85 c10, full brightness all bulbs and cluster painted white. Looks even better in person.

Re: my little brothers first truck..85 c10

Made a road trip to san augustine today to grab some parts for my new buddy Mr Clean. Then got home and spent a few hours under the truck pressure washing so I can do a btake job. I already did this for a full day once but it was so dirty I missed a lot. This time I did in the doors, fenders, and inside the bed sides.

Anyways tomorrow is brake time. Need to replace both calipers and rubber lines, pads, and outer tierod ends. And bleed entire system. The fluid is filthy and is like motor oil.

Got the tires on the rally wheels clean, and plan on painting the wheels soon. Had my 15 yr old bro polish the beauty rings and caps. Bought new chrome lug nuts.

He also polished the rear bumper, and installed the new plate and plate lights. Front bumper tomorrow.

What else. Installed the tails we got....more tomorrow!

Oh yeah got the headers. Great price. No more leaky manifolds.

A shameless plug of the c20 she was lookin so pretty lol

Re: my little brothers first truck..85 c10

Did one side but was exhausted from staying up till 4am every morning last two weeks so took a 3 hour nap. This thing should stop really well.

Tallied up the money I've got in this truck and it comes to about $4,000 including the $1500 purchase price in that number.

Still needs a little steeering work, shocks, ac put together and charged, carb rebuilt, and I may have rearend problems. Also my friend who has a Safelite auto glass van is getting me a windshkeld and rubber with chrome strip this week.

No word from 18 year old brother. Heard mom asked him to come home today and he refused and stayed with gf.

I no longer see him driving this truck
