Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Well I have one of the swaybar brackets mods complete, just needs paint then put it on. I'm going to try and get the other one done this weekend.

What do you think ? Look factory ?

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Looks great. I'll take two Gary.

I'll be doing this mod as well, but I'll have to modify the brackets to work with my 4" lift.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Ya know Shannon, I only had to move my bracket forward about 1" with a 2" lift
So with a 4" you may get lucky and it will line up with your existing cross member !

If your referring to Shannon, his build thread is "Patches". But he recently had a baby and hasn't been doing much on the truck lately !

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks guys !!! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some time to work on getting this one installed and start fabing up the other one.

Next week I'll be posting an update on the motor situation..... That's been one thing after the other. But it's coming together finally .

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks !!!

Shooting to get the engine back in it this weekend. Painting it now, but the POR-15 drys slooow and takes a few coats to cover well. It might be good stuff in the long run, but I'm no fan of how it goes on. Drys so slow that it sags & runs. Horizontal areas are good, vertical areas run. Grrrrr....

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Made some good progress today, motors all painted & in the chassis, serpentine belt set-up is mostly on, fuel & water pumps, headers are on. Had to do some clearancing on the serp brackets and the high volume pump to make everything fit, but it wasn't much. The valve covers will get a fresh coat of paint and some of the hardware will get replace with shiny stuff.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Well I didn't realize my A/C serp bracket had the smog pump provisions on it until I installed it. Ugly.... So I just bought a bracket with out it. That will give it a much cleaner look.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Hey Gary! Damn a lot has happened since i last checked in. Just had back surgery 6 weeks ago so have fallen out of circulation here.

Bad news about the motor. bummer! Better to know before it's installed. At least you don't have paint to worry about. Yup, just put mine in the 4th body shop. Ugh! Oh well. What are ya gonna do? Project is coming along nicely though. That sway bar setup is pretty nice. Keep chugging away. If all goes well, I'll be back on mine in a few weeks… WITH PAINT ON IT.

Chris
