What's this pickup worth

Hello, I've been in the market for a 67-72 for quite a while now. Lots of junk out there. Found this one and was looking for some advise on what it might be worth. It's by far the nicest I've found in the price range I'm in. Definately want to lower it a bit more and change the wheels and tiress ASAP. Everything has been touched on it. I'm not a fan of the color at all but I can live with it. Thanks for looking.

Re: What's this pickup worth

Hard to price from a picture but a nice lookin' truck. If you've been out looking you get a pretty good feel about the value of these trucks. I see a lot of junk for a lot of money too... I want a lot of money for my junk too. Pretty amazing there are as many of them running around 40+ years later as there are. They were made to be "WORKED" and stood up to it very well I think.

OOPS.. more pictures while I was posting

Re: What's this pickup worth

Why is the a/c half missing? That drives me crazy looking at old cars. When someone goes to all the trouble of a custom paint job and all the other details of a major rebuild and just leaves the a/c half on, half missing. Makes me wonder what other shortcuts were taken. May be a perfectly logical explanation, but IMHO if you don't want a/c in that level of build, at least buy the firewall blockoff kit.

Re: What's this pickup worth

I think the A/C thing was just never finished before it had to be sold. Sounds like it was a divorce thing from the builder. The guy that owns it right now was going to install a vintage are system but just never did it. Hes selling it to build another.

That sounds like an awesome price! I can tell you I have more than that in mine, and I would not take that price for my truck! Just my .02

Re: What's this pickup worth

If that body is as clean as the pictures make it look, then 11k is a decent price for that truck. Inspect, inspect, inspect to make sure there are no hidden "gotcha's".

Let us know how it turns out.

Be sure you look underneath as good as you look at the top. Cab supports, inside of the cab corners, front cab brackets where the bottom rear of the front fenders bolt on, core support under the battery, etc.... take a good strong light with you not a little whimpy LED. I also take a cardboard creeper with me so I can slide all the way underneath instead of just kneeling down. You can't see what you need to see that way....

It might be a good deal but it's still a lot of cash.

Looks good in the pics. With that kind of coin though it should be almost flawless.

Re: What's this pickup worth

I agree with LockDoc completely.
...but if all that looks good, I'd pay $11K for it (if I had $11K in the truck budget)
The underside of the cab will tell you what you need to know.
I was going to say $10k-$11k before I read your post of what he wanted for it. I was expecting you to say he wanted $15K. In no way did I expect that truck to be under $10K, unless the rust issues LockDoc addressed are present then its a $5k - $6k truck

11K is probably fair. Take a magnet and a magnum with you.

Couldn't agree more. I think with a nice big wheel you'll also like that color more. Great looking step side IMO and well worth asking price

If you're not a fan of the color I wouldn't buy it. That's the first thing you see everytime you get in it.

Re: What's this pickup worth

If that truck is as solid as it looks then $11k is a good price. If you were to build one to that level it would cost you well over that price and that's not even factoring in the time involved. If that truck was mine and that metal is solid and not full of body filler you wouldn't be buying it from me for $11k.
