Looking for pictures of 1/2 tons with flatbeds

Hi All,
Well I decided to drag my grandfathers old '77 long wheel base Stepside out of the field because the cab is still better on it than several of the squares I've looked at that are for sale recently. But the box and fenders and tailgate are completely shot. Around here a decent fleet side box for it is gonna be over 700 dollars and I seen a a real nice southern one 1200 bucks, plus another 200 for the tailgate from the same bed.
I wouldn't mind keeping it as is but another long stepper is non existent around these parts now.

So I would like to see some pictures of some decent homemade flat beds that are made from steel or wood or steel with wooden sideboards, To give me an idea of what I could build on it that would look decent

Thanks in advance
Jon

I would love to have a flat bed on my truck for looks, but I would loose the usefulness I need.

Re: Looking for pictures of 1/2 tons with flatbeds

I just came across some 60 year old actual 2" x 6" X 8' oak boards out of my business partners old barn. I'm seriously thinking about a nice flatbed for my '71 swb. Looking forward to come ideas.

That's a good idea In my grandfathers barn I found some nice Maple boards he had sawed years and years ago I think cleaned up they would make some nice side boards
