Aftermarket Bumper Help:

I have a 84 C1500, after selling my original step bumper im looking to get the bumper that wraps around with no step, from the suburbans and K5 Blazers. After talking to a guy on CL he said I would have to buy more after market parts to fit it to my frame? Does the Suburban, Blazer bumper not bolt right up like the original bumper from my truck? If it doesn't what else modifications do I have to do? Thanks a lot!

Re: Aftermarket Bumper Help:

I have mine bolted on with just the outside brackets, holds it on good just not much strength in the middle without the brackets.

Re: Aftermarket Bumper Help:

So you're looking at buying a factory sport bumper, which was available on K5's and suburbans and all trucks, to replace your aftermarket step bumper.

Why would you need aftermarket brackets to install a factory bumper? You will need the inner brackets made for your truck that are for the sport bumper. They are truck specific. The outer brackets though are the same for blazers and suburbans and trucks.
