1967 gmc panel

Posted this in the WIW section with no response at all, So I figure here gets more traffic. 1967 GMC panel 3/4 ton, 4x4, V8, 4spd, 50,000 miles. The lower body line is rotted, and really bad around the fuel fill. I know there's no production numbers on these, And Chevrolet only made 8 panels with this package. Anyone have any idea on what this truck is worth?

Re: 1967 gmc panel

With the limited popularity of the Panel, even though it is a low production truck they still don't bring big money.

In this condition I feel the only person that would want it is someone that has a lot of spare parts to make it complete, or someone that has a lot of money to build something that has a sentimental value to them.

Restoring a panel or Suburban that is in 90% rust free condition is a huge undertaking, I can only imagine the cost of restoring one of these that has as much rust as this one does.

That being said... If I didn't have what I have now, and knowing what I know now after restoring my 68 K20 burb. I would pass with out even making an offer, but that is just me.

Re: 1967 gmc panel

Thanks for your insight Chris. I know this truck needs major metal work, and is also something I have no room for, I just hate to see it go to the scrap yard. I've been waiting on a price from the guy in charge of the sale for the school district.

Re: 1967 gmc panel

i definately wouldnt let it to go the junker.

good parts, heck its a 4x4.

its be a fun one to button together and use as a camping rig. not a restore but a cool camping rig or anything custom you could think of. especially if its for the right price.

are suburbans and panel frames the same?

Man that is no junker. I agree with an inexpensive patch job for camping or it would be a heck of a parts truck.

Re: 1967 gmc panel

That is one rare bird that is well worth whatever it takes to restore. The way demand and value works on this is,even if there is low demand for panels and they usually go for lower money, the extreme rarity trumps that to the few who actually do desire panels, especially 4wd Panels, even more so with K/20 Panels, and mostly with any collector who desires the rare and unusual (< I fit into all those groups). This thing has it all...'67 3/4t 4wd Panel and GMC K2500 on top of all that! It's worth sacrificing another Panel or Suburban for better sheet metal.
I'll take it!

Re: 1967 gmc panel

Did this go anywhere? Did it sell? If you buy and decide its too much put me in line before it gets molested. As is condition is worth more IMHO.
Cheers

Re: 1967 gmc panel

I've been calling this guy every week all summer long since May. Every time he tells me he'll call me right back, We've all heard that one, As of late he doesn't even pick up for me, so I leave messages. I also told him if he can't find the paper work not to worry, I just don't want the truck scraped, thinking that was the issue. I know with school starting this truck is the last thing on his mind. I tried to not be a pita with this one, just cause I don't want to lose out on it.

Re: 1967 gmc panel

I know this is a dead issue by now, But for anyone still wondering, the guy finally responded to my messages saying it went to someone within the school board. I still don't believe him, as he is a broker for school buses and knew he would make no money on this truck, Hell, He thought it was a 1954 dodge truck. It was located somewhere near East Hanover NJ, I have a feeling it made its way to the scrapyard since he could not give me title/registration info. What a shame... If anyone want to break his balls for further info, you can PM me for his number.
