Re: Checking for spark?
Dude, SLOW DOWN!!! I understand your impatience, but throwing money at a problem is only for people with more cash than sense. Did you try the starting fluid again? I'm guessing no? If you're going to buy stuff, I would have bought a set of noid lights and checked for injector pulse, but that's in the past now. You could still buy a spark tester or just check it the old fashion way by putting a screwdriver in the boot and holding it close to bare metal on the block. I'm not sure the old plug method you used is the best way. If you still get no spark, and your power and grounds are good, it most likely going to be a crank sensor issue, either the sensor or mosf likely the wiring from it. Know anyone with a good scanner or tuning software you can use to see if the PCM is seeing RPM during cranking? Also, are you absolutley sure you're not loosing power while cranking? Some circuits are hot in 'run' but not during 'crank'. To test this, turn the ignition on, and then jump the solenoid at the starter. MAKE SURE THE TRUCK IS IN PARK AND CANT MOVE SHOULD IT START.

Re: Checking for spark?
so i was in the middle of emailing bill@bp to buy a harness (which still might do cuz of how clean they look) and a huge light bulb went off in my head. dont know how i over looked this as long as i did being that i have messing with the fuse block as much as i have. i remembered i used 2 of the unused powers off the block to feed my harness, ran out to the truck and sure as s#@% the two extras didnt ship with fuses in there slots....2 fuses later.....ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!! seems to run smooth and idle well....throws no codes as of now...
yes im an idiot for not catching this earlier but want to thank everyone that stuck in there with me and helped out...im sure more help will be need soon. I did upload a startup video to my photobucket but its not there..ill post as soon as i can figure that out |

Re: Checking for spark?
Nice that it turned out to be something rather simple . The first time I did an injection system I had it die on the road about 5 miles after getting it going. I tore through that think looking at sensor after sensor, and it turned out that the fuel pump fuse simply had blown because I reused a small one on the fly to get it going rather than sizing appropriately.
It happens, just add it to your book of knowledge . |
