Re: Need upper radiator hold down
What year? I've got one of the early (up to 80) ones.

Re: Need upper radiator hold down
To be honest I'm not sure. Trying to put together an 83 but missing some parts. recently bought a radiator for it & afterwards found out there r 2 different size radiators. The one I bought has a core that is approx. 21" tall, which is the taller style. So I'm assuming I need the hold down that is used with the taller radiator, the one shown in the pic. I think it up to 80 but not positive. If u could post a pic I could tell.
Thanks

Re: Need upper radiator hold down
I'm pretty sure that 73-80 uses a different one than 81up. I have two of the earlier ones like in the picture. They are for 4 row radiators.

Re: Need upper radiator hold down
Scott, I have a pile of upper hold downs. $15 plus shipping if I have the correct one for you. 3 or 4 core? I'll try to post pics asap.
Thanks, Ray |

Re: Need upper radiator hold down
The original one you were looking for is 4 core and there is another similiar 4 core. The 3 cores either step down for the shorter radiator or use the 2 small brackets.

Re: Need upper radiator hold down
Ray, here is my dilemma......no radiator came with the 83 c10 but the hold down bracket with a shroud did. I bought a 3 row rad that seller told me it came from an 83 but wont work with the hold down I have as its too tall (core is approx. 29wx21h). From what I have found it appears that either I need a shorter rad (29x18) or a different hold down.
The other issue I'm not sure about is if I go with the rad I bought, and use one of ur hold downs, would the shroud I have still work, or would I need another one of those as well? Appreciate any help. Scott
