replacing windor regulator shafts

our K-10

has the 1973 doors with the one year only small rollers on the regulators.

the teeth on the shaft where the crank handle goes are stripped

other than watching out for the spring tension , any reason we couldnt drill out the rivets and replace the crank shafts with ones from our 82 parts truck?

that will also let us use the door panels the 82

otherwise Im stumped as to how to address this problem.
