1966 stepside
I have a 1966 Chevrolet C10 wanted to install the newer EURO headlights. I was told by other people that the old wiring harness will burn up if I install this type of headlight without buying a new wiring harness.
I have looked on LMC truck cat. and could not understand why they cost about over $100 with shipping and bulbs Does anyone know where I can get them at a better price? Is this true about about the Old wiring harness or can I use the old one that is in good shape. Last edited by dmgibbs; 05-23-2014 at 02:26 PM. Reason: Add picture |

Re: 1966 stepside
What type of lights are you looking at adding?
I added an H7 (IIRC) type of glass headlight to my '63 and am using the stock harness with no issues. Greg.

Re: 1966 stepside
I know people on here have made there own. The difference is the use of relays. Maybe one of them will chime in. Do a search I know there are a few threads on here on the subject. Try this one.

Re: 1966 stepside
If you just use a relay harness and get the amp flow out of your headlight harness the stock lights will be a lot brighter.
Classic parts of America sells a harness with the relays and will also sell you some upgraded lights.
