which antenna is better?
do you have a preference to the antenna in the winshield, or the one on the fender? I have the one on the fender, but when my windshield got replaced it now has one in the windshield also. I have the stuff to hook that one up, just haven't pulled the dash to do it yet.
the one on the fender is always crooked for some reason, and it bugs me. just curious if theres proof of the fender one working better or worse? getting ready to paint the fenders and thinking of eliminating the fender one.

Re: which antenna is better?
Window ones look better in my opinion, but they typically do not work as well as a Fender mount antenna.
FM radio I have only noticed a difference at the extremes of reception. AM some stations do not come nearly as clear based on wattage. If I were to upgrade my reception I would get the powered hidden antenna from a retailer like summit. |

Yes - there is proof that the fender ones work better for reception.

Re: which antenna is better?
well, I feel stupid! Just took it loose to see if I could see why it was angled out. the plastic bushing under it was on upside down, and its angled, which was thowing it out. turn it over and it sits straight up now! guess I will leave it.
I am getting ready to paint the fenders so wanted to figure out what to do with it before I did that.

Re: which antenna is better?
I put an antenna windshield in my 90 burb with the factory fender mount antenna as well a few years ago and used a "Y' adaptor for the cables so I'm now hooked up to both antenna's.

Re: which antenna is better?
But we're dying to know - does the dual antenna work twice as good? Was it worth it? Was it even noticeable?
