4x4 Axle Width?

Does anyone have an accurate wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface measurement for the 4x4 trucks? Specifically 3/4 ton would be amazing but 1/2 ton should be the same. I only ask because searching is bringing up different numbers. I'd like to see if there is a chance of me swapping axles with anything from another truck.

Re: 4x4 Axle Width?

you can swap in the later ones bout you have to relocate the rear spring perchs. no big deal. frts will bolt in and if you upgrade to p/s then use that pitman arm

Re: 4x4 Axle Width?

if chevy or GMC had them in their 3/4 or one tons up to 87 they should be the same width at the spring mounting

Re: 4x4 Axle Width?

The WMS to WMS on a Eaton HO52 should be 65.5". The width on a '73-'87 10.5" 14 bolt in C/K20 will be about 66.875". The typical '63-'70 12 bolt in a C/K10 will be 62". The typical '71-'87 C/K10 differential will be 63.5". Some of the '63-'72 C/K20's did come with Dana 60's in the rear. I would have to check on the WMS to WMS on one of those.
