OH WTT Like to trade tow hooks for hub cap?

I'd like to trade my 60-68 tow hooks for 1 61-63 style 4x4 hub cap, the style used with the nub wheels. Not interested in selling the hooks. I'll also pay for one if you're not interested in the hooks.

just saw one on Ebay (not mine) its nibs, but not 4x4 maybe u can modify it and sace the hooks. just an option...

Can't be modified due to the size of the bowtie. Last 61-63 4x4 cap I saw for sale was a few months back....I keep my eyes peeled and will let you know if I find any!!

what if you take the full center out bowtie and all then weld in a perfect fitting piece with the correct size center opening for the locking hub?

I suppose its possible. Here is a pic of the back side of the cap. Looks like they were just punched out on a press. The hub is smaller than the bowtie, which would leave big gaps between the cap and hub if it wasn't filled in. 3/4 ton caps would also work with the inner plate removed.

I have a junk yard close to me that has a pile of 60-66 trucks. I will see if I can find a hub-cap. The trucks are super rusty but hubcaps should be fine.

This seems like a fairly easy fab job. I'd cut the circle the correct size, trim out the remaining bowtie corners, and weld/tack in small filler pieces to complete the circle. Fine tune with a light grinder, prime, paint and Bingo! You got an impossible to find hubcap!

i figure if you cant find it, make it!!! the search is awesome dont get me wrong, but pounding your head looking for a part, when you can tweak one is alot better. cuz i still got few parts im searching for so one less to hunt for is a good day!!!

63c-10 the 3/4 ton 61-63 cap is physically different and taller than the half ton nub and half ton clip cap .

Thanks for the replies, Cutting out a regular cap is kind of my last resort. I really would like another OEM front cap. I just thought the tow hooks might be a tempting trade for someone who might have one

Yeah....I know better than that. Sorry for the temporary brain lapse. Our office has been without AC all week and its in the 90's here. Thanks for the correction.

What I meant was a 3/4" nub style rim will except a clip style cap with the insert removed.

Well I do appreciate the effort, but those are regular GMC caps someone cut up. and they're chrome. But I do have some tow hooks from JC Whitney I might trade for those. Just kidding, Thanks for keeping me in mind.
