LQ9 turbo in 72 suburban
Hello guys. I just rejoined the site and I know there have been numerous posts/threads with the swap I'm doing, I am just wondering if maybe someone could point me toward some of them, maybe some advice before I get started....any and all help will be greatly appreciated, and I plan to post as many pics as I can of the build.
I recently acquired an LQ9 6.0L out of an 05 Escalade and a Garrett 76mm turbo. My 72 GMC "Subourbon" with a 68 nose job is going to be the recipient of this powerplant. |

Re: LQ9 turbo in 72 suburban
Any of the 67-72 swaps will fit the model to look at; the only things that would be different would come "after" the cab, so the exhaust etc.
As far as things like mounts, wiring, hard parts etc, it will be right in line with what any of the other swaps from that generation would use. Not sure if it helps, but don't limit yourself to just that range...there's lots of good applicable info across the spectrum!

Re: LQ9 turbo in 72 suburban
Thanks for the reply. Yes those suburban specifics are what I was hoping for help with. I may need to find someone who has already done a swap like this and pick their brain.
