Debating on buying a suburban project
Ive always like suburbans, and I havent really been looking but if one pops up, well, you all know the deal. Only problem is I know nothing about them. So here is this one. What would be a decent price to pay for it? I can get a title for it with a proper bill of sale. But what are some problem areas and a decent price? Thanks

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
Looks like a good project burb to me.. The rust looks minimum and the windshield will set you back $400-500.
Offer $1200 and see if they take it.

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
so you know it is a 62 has torsion bar front end that is a 60 hood and a 64 grill i would say its been hit in the front look at the frame horns and see what shape they are in nice that it has the seats and an unmolested dash... dont see any inter fenders, core support or front bumper ....looks like rust in the rockers very nice start.. A LOT better than some i have seen the guys on here rebuilding... remember one thing they are NOT making anymore of these i would buy it

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
Correct seat belts as well. Irving Airchute with the correct webbing for 62.
Deluxe seat, Cigarette lighter. Dash was drilled in the spot where the throttle cable goes possibly for flasher unit. Deluxe gauge dash is a bonus. Correct antenna Correct arm rest drivers door. Deluxe heater 62 headlight doors on the floor behind middle seat. Correct Reverse Lights Powerglide I see only a brake pedal on this stupid phone

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
looks like at least 1 window clamp is still there! $$$
I think barn doors are a plus, easier to load/unload, and you don't have to look for the lift gate struts which are impossible to find, looks like a decent project/price

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
In one of the pictures there is an original driver side fender that doesnt appear to be bent up. Was told he bought it with the original front sheet metal (minus hood) but has bought some piece along the way. Have to see what happens with it. Always liked the burb look, just know almost nothing about them. Thanks for the input

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
SO heres a little more info on it. As the owner says, it has not been hit in the front at all, still has most of the original sheet metal. He has two brand new fenders that come with it. Only rust is on the rocker on the passenger side (so weve all heard) but hed do 1400 cash on it. Is that a pretty fair price for it?

Re: Debating on buying a suburban project
Well I got it home. Pretty solid old burb. Found out it was an old park rangers suburban. Fenders that came with it seem to be a really nice repro but who knows how theyll fit. Got him to throw in a set of rust free inners which im in the process of putting in. Found a caution decal behind the drivers seat about the limited slip rear end and all that. Took the good fender off and put it inside and slapped the original on it to keep them out of the weather since itll be a little bit before I get to it. Has the original spare and holder still mounted under it and the jack under the seat. Ill put pictures up once I get the hood out of the back and everything. Im still learning a lot about these things.
