Electric fan wiring
What do I need to get my fan to run when the engine (sbc350) reaches a certain temperature? I have a relay but not sure what else I need. Thanks

http://www.jegs.com/i/Derale/259/16739/10002/-1. There are two types. One uses a push-in probe that sticks into the radiator cooling fins = less desirable. The other type uses a temp sensing fitting(more desirable) like a normal water temp sending unit that screws into a water jacket somewhere. There are a number of fan on/fan off temperatures, such as on=180, off=160. You just need to determine what temps you want and what works best for your application. Look thru the Jegs catalog for all the different types and models and pick out yours.

Re: Electric fan wiring
Whichever you choose TEST before you install. I made a little holder and had my meter attached over a pot of water. Checked for opening/closing with a temp geauge in the water. Not perfect but close enough
