After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Question Re: Interesting site for LS base

I was surfing and came across it. I'm still looking for a cam and rockers for the 6.0. I can't find any straight info on it. All the articles start off that they are stock engines then all a sudden they have bored the motor are changed the intake are put better injectors on it. Nothing so far that I have found is straight talk about a stock 6.0 LQ4 motor.

I haven't called any yet but have filled out several forms on websites waiting to hear back. Crane sent me a e mail yesterday.
I'm going to call Tick today since I'm off.
I'm going to call Modern Chevy to.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

Why are you going to replace the rockers? On every hi-po LS I've built, I've always used the stock rockers/trunnions and they work great. My current cam is 233/239 .634/.621" and its still using the stock rockers. Zero problems.

Cam, hardened pushrods, and a good dual spring is what I'd do.

Give Brian Tooley Racing a call, and he can get you set up with a complete package...
Might as well go right to the source, because many of the "cam experts" go to him for parts anyway, and he can spec you a great cam.

I was going to the roller's just because I have to build them anyway. If I get bare heads. This kind of stuff is way over my head. I have no idea what I should are shouldn't do. That's why I ask so many questions before hand. I wished I would have taken automotive classes back in school.

Just re-use the rockers that are on the truck now.

Question Re: Interesting site for LS base

I had read that the new rollers gave a little more lift for the valves with the way they are made. Off of Cranes website.

The rocker arms are manufactured from heat-treated billet aluminum extrusions, and CNC machined to exacting tolerances. These gold anodized rockers have long had the reputation of being the most accurate on the market and feature Crane's exclusive Quick-Lift™technology. They employ heavy-duty precision-ground steel needle bearings, a heat-treated steel roller tip, and come complete with adjustable locking nuts.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

I'd call Brian Tooley. They are very helpful. I got a quote from TSP for valve train components to match my TSP cam. Called BTR, even considered buying a new cam from them, they suggested to keep what I have (planning on turbo in the future), gave some great tips and saved me over $200 on what I need to run the cam.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

Well it sounds like your mind is already made up, but I just want to point out that it really doesn't matter if you get "more lift" from the rockers....you're getting a new cam...get your lift from the lobes...lol.

That's just it my mind isn't made up. I don't know what I should buy! Lol...

I wish I knew. I would already have ordered it. I just figured I follow the article I posted about the stock parts to make 400HP without have $2-3000 in it.
This link is what I was looking at.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

Ok...let me help you out, Andy.

I did a budget build for my brother's Monte Carlo SS. Junkyard LQ4, stock, non-ported 317 heads with dual valvesprings, hardened comp pushrods, STOCK ROCKERS (lol), LS6 intake with stock CTS-V injectors, Comp Cams XR281HR, 228/230, .571"/.573" - 112 LSA, longtube headers....thru a 4L80E with a 9.5-inch, 3400-stall converter.

Stock PCM street-tuned by me.

Made 409 whp on the motor, and 536 whp on a "150" shot of spray.

It's a very, very basic LS build....and very budget friendly, and runs consistent 11.50s on the bottle.

Call a cam manufacturer & explain to them what you are trying to accomplish. What you're trying to do is pretty much doable with cam and springs.

Now see that is what I want. Can I ask why you changed the intake. I would like to keep the truck intake. Could I do everything but the intake and bottle and get close to 400?

Willie Makeit,
this is what I was thinking to but then everybody starts adding stuff and you don't know what did what.

I think that getting close to 400 with those mods on a 6.0 would be pretty easy. Like the others have said, call some sponsors and talk to them, they are usually more than willing to help. I used Texas Speed, and they were very helpful.

Intake was changed for hood clearance and aesthetics. The truck intake is no slouch, and has been proven to flow very well...it's just FUGLY.

Should still be a solid 400 whp ride with a truck intake.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

Texas Speed told me not to change intakes and I would lose power if I went to a car intake. I don't think that really pertains to the LS6 but there's more work to change it over.

I'm looking into smoothing the truck intake. There are a few threads on LS1tech that look pretty good. Probably more work than what I'm wanting to put into it but right now I have the time.

Oh these where right after I got it. I have put S/S bolts in it now looks a lot better.
A buddy gave me a truck intake that I also plan to shave down and see how it looks.

Andy, call the guys at PCM of NC, they are in Mooresville. They can help you pick, install and tune for a cam. They really know their stuff. If you are planning on changing your heads, I'd go L92/LS3 and do an intake upgrade at that time. Your 6.0 has lots of potential, just depends on what your goals for looks under the hood, power and budget.

Are these the people out by Mooresville dragway?

If so I want need to talk to them by no means.
I drove all the way up there after my training in Gastonia one Friday afternoon after speaking to them twice that week about my truck. I get there after sitting in traffic for close to a hour on 77 which it's always like that and he comes out to the truck and says sorry the computer been down since yesterday and it's not fixed! I called him and spoke to him sitting in the traffic because I was running later than what I had told him. Needless to say I wasn't very happy with them at all and wouldn't go back now if it was for free. If it's the same company! The guy I talked to was Mat I think young guy like early 20's. Looking at google maps this is a differant place.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

This place is right off 150 just outside of town. Alvin is the tuner and his wife Kelly is at the front desk. They have always been nothing but nice to me.

If I ever get back up that way for awhile I may stop by. My dad lives in Conover so I'm up that way a lot. Maybe we can meet up some time.

Re: Interesting site for LS base

Wasted is right, no need for rockers at all. My last Turbo LS made 606HP/628TQ to the wheels on nothing more than a triple 12 isky cam, 60lbs injectors, a 70mm Turbonetics turbo, and a set of hardened push rods.

I only know of 2 people that can actually spec a cam for these motors, one is Tooley and the other is Jarrett (Stock48) on PT.net. The isky triple 12 is Jarretts custom grind.

I know this is not a N/A motor but it did have the STOCK rockers. Matt Happel on the sloppy boards has made a lot more power on the stock rockers!

@wasted glad someone else knows about the Denmah!
