Re: 1962 k10 value help
That looks like a nice truck, but there are a few unknowns. What engine does it have and how many miles on it? Was the body work done correctly, or was all the rust and dents just covered up and given a shiney coat of paint? The white looks to be an afterthought and not much attention to detail. What kind of shape is the running gear in? Is there any documentation for the work done?
With that said, a few years ago, my son bought a '63 K10 short fleet with no engine, for $2500. The body was not all rusted out, but it has issues. All stock running gear too.

Re: 1962 k10 value help
Hey Krex I know this seems like a cop out but it's worth what you are willing to pay. There are a lot of questions only you can answer. Do you want a flat bed? Are you looking for a project or are you leaving it as is and driving it? Do you want something original or modified? Like the color, interior? Is the work done up to your standards? If it's exactly like you want it = worth more. Not what you want and needs a lot of changes = worth less. When you start tearing into these, even doing the work yourself the costs start adding up. Also a word of advice that's helped me. The time to sell a car/truck is when you buy it. Look at it as you're going to sell it tomorrow, could you? At a loss or a gain? Good Luck and remember we've all been there.........

Re: 1962 k10 value help
The places you want to check the quality of body work is the rear lower fenders, the rockers, cab corners, the floors, and above the windshield. I have seen some unbelievable crap done to cover up holes and dents just to get a vehicle painted and sold. Spray foam and chicken wire and newspaper are a few.

Re: 1962 k10 value help
I have seen that truck on CL, where is it located?
I would definitely ask a bunch of questions and look it closely.

Re: 1962 k10 value help
In Oklahoma. wants 8500 for it but, I would never pay close to that and it's been there for a while, since before September.
I think after reading a bunch and if it has no cab rust etc, 3-4k but I think that also because, I need a flat bed to put random furniture /appliances and random Home Depot or lowes projects, my daily is vw tdi, and I have a cj7 for trade to if I can work something out, Plus the 3-4k is because I like the model and the 4x4, and think it's pretty neat. |

Re: 1962 k10 value help
I payed $2500 for mine which was all original except eng, tk needed a total rebuild. 235 eng is org of the year, are the axles org? anything been rebuilt? the tk will ride like a covered wagon, won't be a freeway flyer also. is there a K in the vin? not to many of these tk's left and not to many were even built. looks like the owner or someone put some money in the tk. 3k-4k doesn't buy much these day;s------good luck

Re: 1962 k10 value help
I paid 5k for my 66 k10.
It came with power brakes, power steering, engine, tranny and xfer case from a 72. Body had all the usual cancer, and as I go through, I am finding lots of spots where bondo was used withgout eliminating rust first. Drivetrain is all nice and tight though. After saying all that, and with all the work it needs, It was easily worth the 5k to me, and I am having a grand time eliminating the warts |

Re: 1962 k10 value help
Keep in mind that the original axles have 3:90 gears and with a 235, that makes for a slow ride on the highway.
