Yeah, Right now they are just Fleetside which was the very desired.
I believe there are some different type of Trunnions (Rubber mounted Polyurethane pairs) for the Step side.
These would work better than the rubber mounted trunnions for the Step side.
I'm looking into this as well.

The switch is to turn on and off the fan. No, I didn't turn over the clock. This is how they were original designed, I just made it work in my case bezel.

I added AC to the truck, so I removed the fresh air intake on each kick panel. I sealed to opening w/indents to accept speakers. I also created custom kick panels with speakers mounts up where the fresh air vents use to be, check out the PICS.

So, I didn't need the cowl vent any more. I was going to do it myself, but it was much easier to have someone else do it! I took it to a body shop where they made a jig to hold in place so it would not move while working on it. While it was secure, they slowly cut out the vents without warping the panel. Then they replaced it with another peace of metal tacking it in place. Then they fiber-glasses the underside of the panel and completed the body work on the top of the cowl. The cost was $125 including a trade of another cowl. An extra one I had purchased in case I messed up this one. Good Luck and thanks for commenting!

thanks for responding back! is the cowl sealed to keep water out of the wiper linkage area,or did u redirect drainage around the speakers in the stock location!! thanks again

I didn't get a picture of that. I used a mounting plate for that computer (2004 LS1) so I can remove it without unbolting it. I would have to also remove the glove box do so. It's a very tight fit and I had to shorten the glove box by about 4 inches.

The Voltmeter conversion.......how difficult was the conversion? I have a few extra '73-'87 voltmeters in my stash. Great idea.
The paint was located at a model bobbie store and I mixed a little white together to get the correct color, testing the color numerous times. I used a mask that I created. Check this out, I photo copied the face on a copy machine then I cut each number/dash out. Put it on the face and painted it with a model airbrush gun. Very slow.

Voltmeter conversion I found it online. It was not to bad to do. I used the original face so getting that lined up was the hardest thing to do. Always do two at a time and pick the better one you complete. Good luck!

I used two type of clocks and two different years. I used the face of a non quartz clock from a 1960-70's 140 Volvo. I put the face on a 1986-1993 factory quartz Volvo 240 clock cluster.

I found one on ebay, just search the year and model I posted: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-240-26...3d15ab&vxp=mtr

I might have put to much time into this but I did restore this 14 years ago and I could't find anything to fit at the time. There might be more available now.

The cowl seal is meant to keep water out of the engine bay. It directs water to the outside areas. If you keep you cowl/vents, Water can still get to the speaker area to drain/drip out of the bottom but I sealed it off to the interior. Factory drainage holes are there. If they get clogged with leave thats the reason this area rusts out. I didn't like that leaves would get blown into my vehicle during the summer months because the vents were open to get fresh air. It would be the only way I could get them out as well.
I didn't need the cowl vent any longer because the only reason its there is to allow fresh air to get directed into the interiors air vents. I now don't get leaves blowing in. When I want fresh air I put the windows down, When I want AC windows are up and I get fresh AC blowing!! Convert to AC its well worth it!

You have to reused your original Trunnion hinge plate/bracket as seen in the pictures. Just remove the bolt with lock washer, replace with these stainless steel hinge trunnions and bolt back on your truck.

I recommend power coating or chrome your Trunnion hinge plate before installing these back on it. To prevent further rusting.
