Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
I was in a wrecking yard near me the other day, and I found an interesting 1977 Chevy Silverado. Can't remember if it's a C10 or C20.
Anyway, this truck has all the bells and whistles on it. Most of the yellow 1977-only trim is intact, it has the 1977-only woodgrain inserts, good woodgrain cluster bezel, and a good instrument cluster with an original clock in it. Also, I found a 1980-only grille for a Custom Deluxe or Scottsdale in the same yard. It looks in good shape with no damage I can see. So, if anybody is looking for these parts, I'd be happy to get them, and then resell them to you at my cost plus shipping. I'd rather help somebody out and have the pleasure of pulling these parts, than make a fortune.

That's very thoughtful. Snap a pic if you can.

Roger that, I can get pictures the next time I get over there. I'll call and see if they can give me a better price if I take a bunch of parts off.

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
I would really be interested in door panels if they are in good shape and not chalky. I don't care what color they are. I know you may find nicer interior stuff where you are located.

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
As I recall, the truck was green exterior, green interior.
The door panels were in average shape (for the Northwest), so probably decent shape by Arizona standards. However, the woodgrain inserts to the door panels were in near mint shape. The door panels were manual lock, manual window as well. I'll try to get back over there this Thursday or Friday to get pictures, and pricing info.

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
I prefer black (I know black wasn't a color option for this year).... color doesn't matter, I will have them redone in black to match my interior. Most important thing is that they have to be factory oem

I may have some of these seat belts. Do you have a picture of what you need. I can't remember if this is the early squarebody lap belts or one of the first years of the shoulder belts. LMK

Gramps, can you use the vent window hardware from any truck 73-87? Or is it only 77-87?

73-80 is for my vent windows, in fact, I just looked up on LMC truck since you asked the question and it jogged my memory they may have them. They do, so I can get them there. Thank you

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
Ok guys, I went over there today and snapped pictures.
The door panels are actually in pretty good shape. There's a little bit of chalking on the tops, but really not bad at all. The gauge bezel has a little bit of the chrome bent around it. The seatbelts are frayed. The bench seat itself is not bad, a couple tears, that's it. The interior color according to the SPID is "Seamist Green". The yellow trim pieces on the passenger side of the bed (long bed) are missing. But all the other pieces that are there are in really good shape. Both Silverado emblems are in good shape, plus the Camper Special emblems and the cab back and corner trim are also good. The guy at the wrecking yard quoted me $160.00 for everything I just mentioned except the seatbelts. If this sounds like a decent deal, and there's still interest, I'll go ahead and pull the parts, and transfer this thread over to the parts section.

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
I found seat belts here locally so I dont need those from this truck.
Is the dash pad cracked? looks pretty good in the few areas thats shown in the pics. I would love to have it if its not cracked. I very curious about the dash pad, can you get a price for that only if its not cracked. I also call dibs next in line for the door panels if 1774btcrew passes on them. they are exactly what i need for my truck.

As I recall, it was cracked at the speaker holes. But I'll check again. For the time being, I can pull the door panels.

The door panels look like they will work for me. I appreciate you doing all of this for the members here!

Re: Local Wrecking Yard Truck...1977 Silverado
I will take the dash bezel as well. It looks to be in quite a bit better shape than mine. Stuff gets so faded here.
