change doors
Does anyone know of changing the barn doors on a suburban to the lift gate? How difficult is the swap any advice or experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Interested in 99 suburban swap and 85 suburban with the power window.

Re: change doors
A quick walkthrough or photos would be great. I have searched the net with no results in someone who has actually made the swap.

Re: change doors
The back body ring is different as all the reinforcements are in different places. Essentially you cut the last foot or so off both and swap. Generally it is easier to find the other body type ad swap the whole body. This is assuming that you want a tail gate rather than ban doors. If you are actually looking to put a top hinge lift gate on, like the later Subs had, then it's 100% custom fab work.

Re: change doors
OK thanks thought it would be difficult. Do you know what years had the tailgate with 96+ and 81+ suburbans I am on the market for a suburban...with the 90's model I only want a vortec engine low maintainance. Thanks again.

Re: change doors
I "think" all the 92up ones have barn doors. the 91older could have either, just depended on how it was ordered.
