Tranny turbo 350 or 700r4? $1500 or $2700

So I just bought my 65 a few weeks ago. The tranny is a turbo 350. It only shift 1-2 not 2-3 did the cable detent adjustment same thing. Took it to tranny shop today. They wanted $1500 to rebuild it or $2700 to put 700r4 in it. Pricing seems pretty high to me. Any suggestions from the board members

I bought a 700r4 from Hughes for 1600.00 and change, a new crossmember from Brothers for around a hundred and got the driveshaft shortened for Fifty. I think the cable from Bow Tie Overdrives was a hundred which I would highly recommend. I would keep shopping around.
