Difference between Chevy Truck/Car 12 Bolt Rear End.
This comes up every now and then in the "bench racing" discussions. Below is the difference between the two above. Top is from 70 Camaro Z28 and Bottom is from my 77 Chevy Sport Truck. You can see that the rear cover and gaskets are different shape. Both have 8 7/8" ring gears. Not sure if any internal parts are the same. Larry

Car 12bolts have a larger pinion gear shaft vs truck 12bolts making them stronger.
