blazer top side glass
I am currently redoing the top for my 76 K5. My question is about the side glass in the top, apparently there is a difference between the deep tinted and the non deep tinted glass because they take different seals. I have 2 sets of glass, my original green tint 76' glass and some 86' ish deep tinted glass. Is the thickness the only difference? I plan on using the deep tint glass, but in case something happens during the install and end up having to use the 76 glass will I have to drop $80 more on different seals?

Re: blazer top side glass
I wonder if the difference isn't the trim strip color? chrome vs. black?

Re: blazer top side glass
I always thought that was the only difference, that you could use black or chrome trim seals on any top. Not 100% sure that's correct though.

Re: blazer top side glass
In my 89' I pulled out the clear, fixed glass and replaced with the tinted slider. It fit just fine and no issues. But I think I did use the seal from the tinted truck donor. Didn't notice any difference though.....

Re: blazer top side glass
I asked LMC "Would you be able to verify the difference between the two items 36-6194 and 36-6195? From the footnotes I see that 36-6194 is for a model without factory tinted glass and 36-6195 is for the model with but can you tell me how to tell the difference between the two? Is the channel larger on one than on the other? Is it larger around the glass?" and this was their Reply "Side window rubber 36-6194 is slightly longer than side window rubber 36-6195. Part 36-6194 measures 138½'', with a tolerance of ½''. We do not have measurements of 36-6195."

Re: blazer top side glass
Honestly I'd get in touch with member Precision Parts, he's a vendor here that sells felts and seals for these trucks. The last LMC stuff I got for mine looked as old as the truck within two years. If he doesn't carry the side glass seals, he might can shed light on any differences.

Re: blazer top side glass
Thanks guys and especially to you tobiahr for contacting LMC. I will try to look up Precision but I have had good luck with most of the stuff that I have bought from LMC.
