Joining the LS family.
My dad has been wanting a newer Van since his is showing its high mileage, and age. Well when he asked about trade in they said $500 to a thousand trade in.
So when he gets his newer van I get the old one for whatever trade in would be. It has the 5.3 and 4L65E with about 125K miles. They were replaced as the van has 350,000 or so. It is an old railroad van. How bad is the van harness for a swap vs the truck/SUV harness? I am putting this in my slammed 66 F100 so I can get 20+ mpg hwy since the ex wife is moving quite far away. |

Van harnesses are completely different from the trucks and integrate a lot of things. You'll have to pick through it like any other harness. I dont see why you couldnt use it though.

Re: Joining the LS family.
I wouldn't say they're "completely" different, they're a little longer, but essentially the same. No more work to make stand alone than a truck harness.

Re: Joining the LS family.
The main "trunk" of the harness to the ECM is about 2 feet longer. My harness for my swap based more off of a van, allowing me the length to put my ecm way up front.

Cool maybe I could hide the harness under the dash even.
