5.3 lc9 gen4 transmission options?
Can I put a 700R4 behind this engine? Other wise I have to run the same year transmission as the engine, is my understanding? Any information greatly appreciated.

Re: 5.3 lc9 gen4 transmission options?
There is no conventional way to hook up the TV cable on a "Drive By Wire" engine.
I have heard talk of using the throttle pedal to run the TV cable, However even if you got geometry worked out.....The pedal would be stiff. A '07 Suburban had either a 4L60E or a 6L80E. Look over your harness, You will have 2 large connectors for the E38 ECM. If you have a 3rd large connector (See Pic), That is for a T42 TCM....Meaning the engine originally had a 4L60E. Hopefully you have the TCM as well. If no TCM Connector can be found, It had a 6L80E...The TCM is part of the Valve Body on 6 speed autos. |

74-10146 airflow sensor.
If you choose to use a 700r4 you will have to use a 05 escalade flex plate. There is no way to hook up the kickdown cable for the 700 so all downshifts will have to be done manually. That engine came with a 6l80e, too bad you don't have that. You can go 4l60 also without having to swap flexplates. |
