Chevy 12 bolt rear pinion yolk question?

I am in need of a rear pinion yolk for my 12 bolt 30 spline. Where can I get one for a good price or what vehicles have a 12 bolt that I can take one from (in a salvage yard not steel)? Or will and other rear end yolk work?

So a 12 bolt is a 12 bolt pretty much. Just pulled one out of a Chevy truck unsure of year but it had a 12 bolt. It will work correct?

The 12 bolt went to '87 in the trucks

I'm pretty sure that anyone will work. I would count the splines on the one you grabbed, but if it had 12bolts you're probably fine.

Re: Chevy 12 bolt rear pinion yolk question?

Turns out there could be three different u-joint sizes on a 12 bolt yoke; 3R, 1310 & 1330 A conversion joint could make it work if yours doesn't happen to match your driveshaft.

Re: Chevy 12 bolt rear pinion yolk question?

The truck 12 bolt was used from '63-'82. I don't remember if the '63 and '64's had a different spline on the yoke or not. I believe the rest were all 30 spline.

Re: Chevy 12 bolt rear pinion yolk question?

Sorry, yes 1982 seems accurate.

I was looking at the fitment of some of the 12bolt parts I just bought for mine and they listed 1987 as the cut off....not the first time a parts catalog had bad info. Sorry again.
