The LT1 I'm gonna get is allegedly from a wrecked 96 Impala SS. It was transplanted into a suburban, and now it's going into my truck.

With this originally being a car engine, is there anything i should be way of? oil pan clearances? mounts?

Also, did you use the stock radiator?
Mine was 96 Caprice Cop car, so basically the same engine. The aftermarket harness fit great. LT1Swap.com has great info on the stock to modified harness also. If yours was in a suburban already you should be set up on the harness already since it was in the suburban.
I had to modify the AC bracket so I could move the passenger motor mount forward. I raised my motor mounts up 5/8" to give the AC more clearance. No oil pan issues. The LT1 is basically the old SBC block. I used my old headers from the 350.

I bought a radiator off ebay but a stock one will work.
My build thread has some more info.

Thanks. Tim

Re: Quick Trans swap question

Trsmotrhed,

I just got back from Los Angeles with my "new" LT1.

I'm gonna end up re-gasketing the whole thing, and am looking into doing an LS style ignition swap.

you Said your motor mounts were the same as the stock SB ones, right?

Re: Quick Trans swap question

Yes the stock ones will work. I had to grind a little in the ac bracket to make them work so I could move them forward. You'll see the different holes.
