New Guy '62 SWB Photos

Hello all...I've been on here a while now perusing all the info and photos.

Finally got a little bit of time to upload some pics of my new to me '62 C10 SWB.

It's from Redding California...a craigslist purchase that I had shipped up to my home in Olympia, Washington.

Its a running driver with the original 283 and a T-5 gear box out of a Camaro with an S-10 T-5 tail section installed for the preferred shifter location.

Still has the original wood in the bed...this truck is really very well preserved and I'm pretty stoked to be its new owner!

Whatta ya think...is she a keeper??

Outstanding! Nice truck, and welcome to the forum. What are your plans? Be sure to take lots of "before" pictures now, before anything/everything changes.

Welcome from over here in the UK.

Neat truck.

Put it this way, I would happily have pulled the trigger on that one.

I see your fenders are as good as mine.

Look forward to hearing more about your truck and seeing your progress.

You already know this is an awesome forum.

Take care of that seat. It's a '62 Custom Comfort seat. And the '62 grills are my favorite too. Nice truck.

Nice truck. Too bad the hood doesn't match. I would drive it as is, a bath of course. Is it blue or seafoam? Pictures through it off.

I'm not sure yet which way I want to go with it to be honest with you. Right now I'm having fun tinkering with it making it run better. I threw an HEI in, jetted the Edelbrock better, re-gapped the plugs...much better already.

I'd like to eventually maybe put a crate 350 in it with a 700R4 or 4l80 behind it. I'll keep the 283 in the shop for originality sakes just in case.

Probably leave the body as is for a while...like I said, kinda hate to take itoff the road for too long while I'm still having fun playing with it.

Yeah, definitely the typical fender rot, even though its a lifetime California truck...at least the rest is solid.

I think its just the cheaper, recirculating version actually.

I'm not certain yet what color it is but it sure has grown on me. The hood was replaced by previous owner after a tree branch fell on the original.

I work with the guy that you bought it from. He used to drive it to work once in a while. Nice truck and I'm glad it went to a good home.

Nice truck for sure! What first caught my eye was the nice 6 lug slots. I'm curious if they are Jeep Wagoneer slots like mine. If so, they should have 3 small screw holes evenly spaced between the lugs. That's where the Jeep center cap was screwed on.

Also noticed you said it has a Camaro T5 with S10 conversion. Me too! I have not driven mine yet but can hardly wait.

Congrats on the really nice truck.

Actually, they have 5 screw holes on them (I just went out and looked again, lol).

The center cap has a large U.S. insignia with a small red white and blue design below it...I have no idea who made them honestly?

100% a keeper! I love it. Now you just have to do a little here, a little there, and make it your own.
