59 GMC Project

Here is a few pictures of our 59 GMC 1/2 ton step side. Lots to finish but it seems to be a good base to start with. We will start the bod work hopefully in 2 weeks the doors have to be fixed at the bottoms from rust along with the drivers front fender. From my other post the engine and trans seem to be in great shape. The wood bed is rough but possibly can be salvaged.

The hard part is trying to work on this one and sons 62 c10. His truck is at a friends house who is doing the engine and trans swap and son is going over after school to help when he can.

Nice project, would like to see where you go with your 59 - start a build thread!
Where in SoCal are you?

BTW, that grille looks very chevy... you gonna pop a correct GMC grille on it?

Re: 59 GMC Project

Here is an original GMC 58-59 grille I saw the other day

-scroll down towards the bottom to see.

If your grille is not banged up you should be able to sell it to offset the cost
