Re: What happened to Search?
The site is being migrated to a new server. We expect it to be completed soon and all aspects of the site working. Search has been disabled during this time. There have been several posts on the subject, and yet so many seem to not know what is going on. Hence this posting..
1. yes we know search is down 2. no you do not have to pay for search 3. no you have likely not been punished for some ill deed by having search taken away. 4. yes we are fixing it 5. if you would like search on now, we can do that. However, then the site will not load, and you will not be able to view whatever it is you are searching. 6. The site is being worked on, and will be fixed as soon as it is done. Its that simple Thanks for all the emails, pms, posts etc. I know many just do not know. This should hopefully help. Also, this may be offensive to some and that is not my intention at all.It is simply something to think about. I noticed that 90% of the posts complaining about search are started by registered members. Please keep in mind that you are taking advantage of a huge knowledge base for free. That is perfectly fine, and we have never ever put folks down for not subscribing. Many members give in other ways, by contributing, paying it forward etc.. However, it bothers me immensely to see people using a service for free and then complaining about an issue it has for a small time. If you wish to see the site continue to grow and functions such as search, work properly, then perhaps you should consider a subscription membership. The server fees for this site run more than many folks house payments, and are going up a few hundred dollars a month with this migration. Yes we have sponsors, but we have tried to keep the site from being riddled with ads. Before you complain, please keep these things in mind. Search will be back functional soon. We the staff use it just as much, if not more than most users on a daily basis. Believe me, we are counting the days as well. Thanks This comes from staff ...

Thank you for your response. I was afraid there was something wrong with my comp, and didn't know how or who to ask.
