Sorta Nembie in TN
Well I used to read a lot in this forum a few years ago until I sold my 54 Chevy 5 window. I think my handle was 54chevyls1 or something like that. It was tied to an old email address that I no longer have access to, so I decided to start using a new handle.
Anyway, my oldest boy is 2 months from being 15, so we have been talking cars. At first he wanted a 57 Chevy Hardtop, that's a little too hard to find, so pick something else. "How about your truck Dad?". Wrong answer again, he isnt getting my Duramax. So then he told me that he likes the 67-72 era Chevy trucks. Ok, now we got something to work with. I love those trucks too. Well, after looking for a few months we landed a 1971 C10 Shortbed. It has factory AC, PS and PB. Original 350 automatic is still in it but it needs a head gasket (I did get to hear it run). I'm not sure my son knows how much work is ahead of him, but he is looking forward to working on the truck and I am really excited to get to do this project with him. Here are a couple of pics and I will start a build thread too. I am going to try to do a good job of taking pics as we go. |

Congrats on the truck. Take a picture of the SPID when you can, it is on the inside of the glove box door.

Re: Sorta Nembie in TN
We have had a few weeks of really crappy winter weather so all I have accomplished is finally getting it to run enough to get it off of the trailer. Here is a not so great cellphone pic of the SPID:
