Thanks...definitely hope it smells better. The body off was literally a one-man job. Eric did it completely by himself using floor jacks, cherry picker, blocking, and a patient methodical approach. Pretty impressive actually. I had to dig deep to find this pic with the lift points on the rear.

....gotta say, I'm a little nervous about hitting page #13.

No, I mean I have my post count per page set higher, so your thread is only on page 8 for me, so you have 5 more pages to go before you get there. Just change your count and then you'll be all good lol

I am set for 40 posts per page

Not a hundred percent on exactly what you're asking, but what we did was use the new reproduction Blazer bed sides. They are complete with inner/outer/front and back structure. I got mine from South Kentucky Classics...but I know GMCPaul and others have them. Inner/outer rocker, floor board, lower A-pillar, etc are all reproduction pieces that most everyone has and require grafting in. The only straight up fab stuff were little patches or connecting pieces.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

Interior chrome got here today. I got lucky on the shipment because the packaging wasn't nearly as stout as I'd like to have seen...those guys don't seem to recognize how hard those pieces can be to come by. Also the end of one of the rear trim strips was bad...they didn't blink about fixing it when I called back. Hopefully it won't be another 10 weeks.

All the interior bits that need to be cleared are cleared. Doors hung...hopefully to never come off again. Tape and plastic had been on for a while...time for a change.

After looking at plastic for so long, I'd forgotten how much I missed this jewel.

Hopefully...I had it done at a chrome shop in Atlanta. I was going to send it to Tennessee...but that was gonna take a year and a half and be the most expensive part of the truck. The guys I used took a "reasonable" amount of time and were easy to deal with. Though I was disappointed to receive a blemished piece, they were gung-ho to get it back and fixed asap.

Unfortunately, I sent it all out about a week before I fell into your bumper threads. If I had it to do again, I would have definitely sent it all there.

Wow that is looking great. better than new. Should last at least another 40 years +. You are taking so much more time than the factory to get it perfect. Can't wait to see paint and all put back together.

You should totally come by...just give me a heads up and we'll give it the once over. Chrome It was the name, the web address it ChromeAtlanta.com. Mack is the guy's name. Fairly easy to deal with.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

Two things went on today with little more than a clean up that are 45 years old. Fan shroud and glove box latch...and they looked pretty darn good. Amazing so much effort goes into rehabilitating, restoring, refinishing or replacing...and they're like, "just let me keep doing what I've been doing for half a century."

...unfortunately the shroud will come back off (like everything, one step forward, two steps back). It seems when they re-cored the radiator, they made it a 1/4" wider. My return rate on parts seems way too high...and it is muy agravante.

Wow. Thanks...I hope it turns out..but this board makes everybody's build better. It's the proverbial rising tide.
