Opinions on different clutch brands
Just like the title says----
There seem to be so many brands and stores for that matter between the Rock Auto to Summit racing to the down the road Auto Zones and every thing in between. I just need a good reliable clutch at a decent price is that so hard to find? I'm not rock crawling, racing or really anything other than driving it. Thanks for any opinions I can get |

I've always had good luck with Luk brand clutches.

Re: Opinions on different clutch brands
Luk are some some of the best clutches. I myself prefer Centerforce but I push my clutches harder than most in what ever i am doing.

Re: Opinions on different clutch brands
I have a Sach's in mine and am VERY pleased! That went in after the center hub sheared off my Centerforce without abusing it.

Re: Opinions on different clutch brands
Hard to go wrong with any brand of OE replacement clutch kit. I have used Luk and Pioneer. Both worked great and never slipped, even behind a semi-hot 327. In fact, I liked them better than more expensive Zoom and RAM street-strip kits, which took a lot of pedal effort.
Make sure to get the proper diameter -- 10.4" or 11", and the correct spline count -- 26 or 10. Check http:www/rockauto.com for a good selection and very low prices, assuming shipping doesn't run the price up too much.

Yes thanks mike that's really what I wanted to know, am I gonna go wrong with a less expensive brand.
I am more than likely gonna grab the set from o'reily's tomorrow, just less hassle than doing the online thing |

Re: Opinions on different clutch brands
Don't buy an off-brand name from one of the cheaper parts vendors, do more research.
My AutoZone clutch lasted one week, and a Centerforce lasted years until the truck was sold. No mercy given ! K30 350ci/350hp 4.56 gears - real worktruck. If you're gonna keep it don't cheap out !

Re: Opinions on different clutch brands
I believe a lot is to be said for proper installation, one can poorly install the "best" clutch or not adjust it properly and there goes the whole thing, and I'm sure there are pro shops installing the less expensive stuff every day and doing it right and those clutches last for years, just my two cents

Thats great not sure you can do much better than 18 yrs, and from what I've learned LUK is on the low end for cost. And Greg i think your correct there is a lot to be said about how it's installed |
