Headers 49 GMC

No traction over on the Advanced Design forum, so I thought I'd try here.

49 GMC with an 5.3L LS motor moved back in the firewall about 3". Using a 5spd and want to keep my pedals on the floor for that nostalgic look. Had 2010 LS Camaro shorties but they wouldn't clear the pedals. Between the motor mounts, steering and the pedals, it looks like I have to go over the frame and into the fender well

These are plastic header modeling blocks from Icengineworks. Here's the second iteration of the design. The tube lengths are within about 10% of each other and nominal primary length is 29". At full lock, the front wheels clear the header by about 1.5"


The plywood just keeps the tubes aligned. The header 'lego' kit is a little short on straight pieces so I have a gap at the collector

I did tight tuck shorty headers from sanderson for a 68-72 nova ls application. Used low mount gm organ donor motor mounts and clears anything you can think of in my 69 c10 5.3 ls. No frame perches in the way, no dirty dingo adapter mounts to get in the way of my gm low mount ac compressor mounting. Collector flange at about the trans/engine area pointing back and down at a 45 degree angle.

Here are the Corvette headers we are using on a 46, the front section of the frame looks to be the same as the A D's
