L.E.D. dome light upgrade project - check
I did this in my e39 (BMW) and results were nothing short of bad asp! So I did the same thing in the truck except changed the size of the led smd board.
the supplied bulb adapter instead of the bulb "custom" lol led smd holder which was a piece of cereal box with a notch so the wires could be tucked in that slot. The led smd board is a sliver smaller than the lens but fits like it should once its installed the led smd board comes with some type of white double back foam strip. It's not super tacky but does the job. Dome lens installed, looks factory. With the dome light on, its obvious its not factory, its brighter, more white and the outline of the led is visible. Later on, when it gets dark, I will add some more pictures... total cost 7$ for 2 48 count led smd boards w/adapters. I also ordered some 15 count led boards one for passenger floor board and one for driver side, 12$ for 6 of em with adapters. As far as the 15 count boards, they are hella bright. before (with cheesy 3 led bulb things installed... maybe same brightness as factory bulb, but more white/slight tint of blue) after
