fuel gauge rebuild?

Any member ever rebuilt this gauge? Out of my 64 C10, i know the sender and box are good, looks like the gauge has "**** the bed". I sent my last set to Bob's in Michigan to be rebuilt and they came back great but, my wallet was a LOT lighter.

What is the correct way to test the gauge by itself? I know it should read between 0-30 OHMS.
