Re: Something to share on Sunday

Looks awesome!. Any tips you want to share on how you converted to an amp gauge. I need to do this with mine as well as my new wiring harness does not support the volt meter.

It's not angled Capt. it just appears like that in the side photo. The master cylinder has 3/4" clearance from the air cleaner.

Hi go to the top of the forum and type in converting from amp gauge to volt gauge. This is where I found my info.

One of the last things I need is to finish is my restoration of the gauge cluster. I replaced the amp gauge with a volt gauge from an 80 Silverado, mounted the original face plate to it. Put in a vacuum gauge from a 65 Pontiac. Left its face alone as I am wanting something a little different. I remove the overspeed and tandem brake lens and have printed up GEN and OIL so that I'll have double protection. Won't be the first time this setup saved my neck! I removed the power brake pedal pad that I made and replaced it with the later style pad with a little twist of my own! Bet there aren't many of these out there! Slapped on a hood ornament from a 65 El Camino and a 6 cylinder badge from a Nova. Mark01 turned me on to a set of stainless steel rails for the bed! To quote my wife " It looks sporty!" Hope ya'll enjoy. Mike.
It's been a week since I posted this and I went to the car show as stated. Had a great time, made new friends, brought home some valuable information. Placed a respectable 3rd. place. It was respectable because 2nd. went to a silver 69 camaro and 1st went to an indigo blue 71 charger. Both were absolutely gorgeous. What made it really special was a group of senior citizens came to the show from there health care home and you could just see the memories in there eyes. They really made it all worth while. It's nice to make someone happy even if it's just for a little while. Happy Fathers Day to all. Mike.
