Spindles/Brake Pedal_Too Much Travel

Hey all. I've got about 3-3.5" of travel on my brake pedal before it does anything. What can be done about this? I keep having to put the pedal all the way to the floor to stop completely. I suspect I might have a leaky brake line.

Also, trying to find a decent set of wheels, but I've got 3" spindles on my hubs and it's limiting my options for a 5x4.75" lug pattern. What have you guys done to get around this? Are these spindles interchangeable?

A leaking brake line is easy to diagnose. Is the fluid level down in the master cylinder? Sound like maybe some air in the lines. I would bleed all four brakes and go from there.

Assuming you have front disc brakes... its easy to swap rotors to ones with a different lug pattern. What about the rear axles? Are they also 5 x 4.75"? I would think there's lots of wheel choices out there with that pattern. A lot more than 6-lug. lol

I converted my truck to discs and power. i have a ton of travel before my brakes engage, but when they do they work perfect. I bled the brakes several times including gravity bleeding... nothing changes they travel. Any ideas guys?

I was thinking of switching my setup to a 72 style compound booster linkage to help with the travel. Any thoughts? Anybody done this?

When I swapped mine over to power and disc it was the same way. From reading on here I drilled a new hole in my brake pedal one inch below the factory one. Helped a lot

Yep, when going to power booster, you need to have the rod 1" lower than the factory manual brake location. This changes the pedal ratio and eliminates the extra movement of the pedal.

I used a stock GM power brake booster and didn't have to drill anything. I also adapted my adjustable rod to it.
