I am from the 60-66 forum but owned a 57 and a 58 years ago. question is--my buddy has a blasting business and just blasted a 57 rad support and inner finders and under the paint they were galvanized or cad plated of some kind. the truck has never been apart per the owner. anybody heard or know of this?
thanks in adv.

Re: 55-59 experts
I have the original and another I got that had better cross braces. Both were just primed and painted metal. Maybe a supplier on one of the coasts did it as a matter of habit to combat long term corrosion??

Re: 55-59 experts
its a zinc phosphate coating they put on the bare metal after stamping so it doesn't flash over before painting
