Repop Fenders

Are the Repop fenders any better than they were, I'm in need of both and really don't think ,mine are rebuildable they've already been hacked on at one time another... If I have to replace the inner brace and lower piece and also the fronts, might as well replace the whole thing...I've heard of issues in the past...Also the inners as well... If so who was the supplier..

Re: Repop Fenders

Ol Skool is right Randy they don't fit, and they're expensive. But in my opinion they're Okay for a driver. I'm like you my fenders were shot so I didn't have anything to work with.

Re: Repop Fenders

I recently got both front fenders from Bowtie Truck Stop in Montrose MN

Both fenders bolted right up with NO problems. All bolt holes aligned in

fenders. No complaints & at $195 each can't go wrong.

Re: Repop Fenders

I've never had any repops but I've had pretty good luck getting rust free originals from the classifieds right here on the forum. Were about the same price as repops also.

Re: Repop Fenders

I went to the Springfield MO swap meet last weekend and 3 vendors had sold out except 1 pair. I decided to wait a little longer for a possible parts truck, but people are using them.

Re: Repop Fenders

if I were to get repops then I would deffinately drill a LARGE hole in the bottom of the inner brace to let the trash and water out since that's what rots them out anyway...

Re: Repop Fenders

Take a look at my post "Aftermarket inner fender beware". With that being said I am quite happy with my nearly finished results using aftermarket inner and outer fenders. But I had a lot of cutting and pasting to get to this point. From my perspective I would rather fix that than rust.

Re: Repop Fenders

Another possible option is, original non rusted fenders (from AZ, CA, etc. ) are likely to be available at Fall Carlisle in PA. Not sure of price.
If interested PM me and I can give you more information.

Re: Repop Fenders

Thanks for the replies. I just placed an order from LMC we'll see just how well they fit inner and outer...I actually had to kinda rework the rockers too when I got those...but not sure who made them. I don't mind alittle tweaking, but if there off alot then I'll let them know and send them back...

Re: Repop Fenders

I buy my sheet metal from Browns of Two Rivers, WI
Not sure on the manufacturer but the stuff fits good, a little tweaking is always needed new or used.

Re: Repop Fenders

Randy-- I bought mine probably 2+ years ago. to different brands a? thats what what shipped. one fit perfect and one didn't. Had to mod the rear upper mounting bracket and got it to fit. post up what brand they send you. leave rad support loose when fitting everything.

Re: Repop Fenders

Do you guys know the actual manufacture of fenders your buying? I sell a lot of Dynacorn sheet metal and have only had 1 complaint (inner fender well) which we took back. Im always curious to here who manufactures the very poor fitting ones so I can stay away.

Re: Repop Fenders

Randy you are a couple hours away or less from a keyparts/tri-plus parts warehouse on timberlake drive in Lynchburg.this is where the stuff from the top banana guys come from. I have bought some sheetmetal from TB in person and went to the warehouse to pickup, those guys at the warehouse are pretty cool and they may let you take a peek at the fenders if that helps. good luck.

Re: Repop Fenders

Try Tony of 456 Chevy in Kansas or RJ Sisneros in Colorado, I've just about bought a whole truck from both. Never a complaint. Hoods, doors, fenders, and a lot of pieces parts.
