Reinstalling 64 glove box

Here I am putting the final pieces on the truck and I'll be damned if I can figure out how the glove box goes together - it seems pretty simple however the little spring on the bottom is throwing me - can anyone snap a picture as to how this goes together... I looked on LMC their pictures are usually pretty good but no luck this go round... thanks for the assistance in advance.

Got it figured out - man if someone would build a better glove box - I'd seriously buy me one - that was horrific.

Wayno would you mind posting a couple of pics of the hinge or inside the box? I have a 65 and I am trying to get the door re-attached. I posted a week or so ago on this forum, but didn't get too much help.

It's good to know somebody else out there has the same difficulties. Congrats on getting it done.

Hey man - looks like your hinge setup is different than the one on my 64 - on the door itself where you look to have a hole with plastic mine has threaded metal nut if you will - where I thread in a bolt that holds on the grommets. Let me see if I easily take it back off and snap you a couple of pictures.

Re: Reinstalling 64 glove box

It does help...tremendously! But I still can't figure out if the design of these things was too simple, too complicated, or just bad.

Pictures tell me that I don't have all of the parts I need; which I suspected. Now at least I know what I am searching for.

Anybody out there have any spare 4-5-6 glove box door parts? I guess I should post a WTB on the parts board.

Re: Reinstalling 64 glove box

There is a piece of spring steel along the bottom edge that I struggle with. It seems to fit only one way but it'd be nice to confirm before I get too far along. My glove box door has never closed right since the day I took it off. Got any pics of that area?
