Re: Toyota Timing Belt
Welcome to the site.
I used to own one of those 4.7's in a four runner a while back. Great engines. I am getting ready to do a timing belt swap on my 3.3 in my Highlander and have found a wealth of "how to" information on Youtube. Look up your engine in their search feature and I am positive you will get all the information you need in video form. Let us know how it turns out.

Re: Toyota Timing Belt
My neighbor has a 4.7 in a toyota and i looked up the recommended service intervals and it mentioned valve clearance as a needed item. I believe it's a 2004. Further searching on alldata pro found that the style of valve clearance adjustment is a select fit disc. You measure the clearance, record it, and then look on a chart and order the new correct thickness disc id adjustment is needed. If memory is correct my recommendation by 100,000 miles was a t-belt, tensioner, waterpump (might just as well) and the valve clearance adjustment as per the service sheet. Good luck.
