6.0l questions
Just picked up a 6.0 L. Only came as a standalone engine. Did not come with wiring, computer, or transmission. What is the best route in going about getting a computer and wiring harness? Is it possible to bolt a NV3500 up to the 6.0l?

If you know what the engine came from it maybe best to get a ecm from the same model vehicle but I'm not sure about it. Wiring harness you would be better off going custom aftermarket and have it built to suit your needs. Yes I think you could put a nv3500 behind it but personally I wouldn't waste the money to do it based on hp and torque of a 6.0..go with nv4500 if possible.

The only reason I am thinking about the nv3500 for now is that it is in the truck already behind the current 327 power plant.

I get what your saying about using the trans you have and I don't know about your 6.0 but I have a 6.0 in mine backed by a nv4500 and on the dyno my stock engine is turning 344 hp and 397 torque..i think i read the recommended max input torque on a nv3500 is around 300 ftlbs.if yours is in like new condition you might get away with it but if its got alot of wear the 6.0 might be a death sentence for it...just for thought.

I just did my 5.3L swap and I replaced my TH350 with an NV4500. Even if I had an NV3500 I would still replace it with the heavier duty transmission. There is too much risk involved with in going with the 6.0L and your light duty transmission, you want something that will handle your motor.

Try to find a comp that will match your intake, if its a dbw get the comp that operates it, or if dbc get one that matches it. Lots of info to make your own harness if you desire.
