downpipes

Hi guys,
I thought I'd try to start a discussion about downpipes.
Assuming--
(1) we want sbc's with straight rams horns and have lowered our trucks 5-6"
Routed over trans crossmember and through trailing arm crossmember.
Out the back.
This has got to be a very common design - right?
So- who knows where to buy a bolt on system.
I have not been able to find downpipes that are correct, although the Corvette size ones will fit (using Corvette 2 1/2" straight rams horns).
We ought to be able to convince someone to make these.
I asked Flowmaster , but they moved their r&d to Idaho.
Who else can we get to make this system?
Thanks for any info or leads.

Re: downpipes

Find out who is the best muffler shop in town and take them the truck. That is the only way to get what you need. We have some good ones around here and they bend some nice pipe.

Re: downpipes

Simple answer; its not worth any companies time. To get a company to spend the money on r&d and tooling etc, you need to either be a large market share, or a high $$ premium part (i.e. race parts). The part desired doesn't fit either target really.

As PG said, a good exhaust shop or auto fab/machine shop should be able to put something together fairly cheap in comparison.
